Shocker, I missed something. I need to revise, but not quite there yet. I mean, I know what and who I missed, but it’s not coherent and cohesive in my mind enough to say yet. And I wish I could have feedback in real time. Together we’d have it locked up with details very quickly because there’s often bits I’m missing that jump out to other Janeites.
I always say that Jane Austen never plants a question in our head ws without giving us the answer, and she continues to prove me right.
So, who sent Lady Catherine on her wild ride to Longbourn? I figured it out. (But to be fair, Harriet Jordan from the Reading Jane Austen podcast figured it out before me, even though she was made to doubt it.)
What made my brain itch enough to try to solve it, once and for all, was that strange dinner party at Pemberley that gets so much focus… but that Lizzy never goes to. Why is it there?
And since I reference it, a much easier one.
How long before we meet Darcy at the Meryton ball did the elopement happen?
How it started. (I’m on a crappy webcam mic, but it is what it is. Also, always listen to Reading Jane Austen.)
