I make jewelry and try to read everything on the US Civil War and Reconstruction that comes out, (thereby knowing many smart people.) I know a bit of law, care about Beatles historiography and love the Nagras. Jane Austen whispered her Emma secrets to me across many miles and 200 years. ✨ My father was Bill Sargent, the Pay Per View Beatles guy. #DYRBRY
MOOC Mania – Embedded Systems
I’m really excited and nervous about this class. (It’s always important to keep in mind that most professors are not necessarily naturals in front of a camera, especially in “intro” videos.) Yeah, yeah, Michael Sandel is definitely the exception. Noted. Back to business? Enough rockstar professor. Back to business. — Embedded Systems awesomeness — …
Okay, a freaking cute dog video.

(And yes, I’m completely biased because I had a stupid little shit Westie and they are freaks with sound. They are said to “vocalize” more than…
Starts as an excellent lecture on McClellan and Lee by Dr. Rafuse & quickly veers into “Give ‘Em Hell, Harry!”

The South – Grant – and what about the cotton strategy?
What about the South choosing to starve the global cotton market instead of flooding it? Because that was incredibly stupid.
Vicksburg – well, first, Grant more broadly – (and an amusing time-traveling sidetrack to Gettysburg)
So I really want to concentrate on Vicksburg but because Vicksburg was really about long, difficult, and seemingly endless preparation and because in that situation the purely personal relationships are key – and because Steve Knott’s Army War College lecture is so good – I’m going to put it up first so that at least…

The Seacow Arrives
Seacow heaven Batmish made a Seacow and it is awesome so it must become some sort of character and do cool Seacow things. I’m also very certain that this Seacow has a brilliant sense of humor. I mean, it’s obvious, right? Creative Commons: Attribution – Batmish Not all Seacows are Pink – in expectation of…
